Chatbots and messaging automation

Kove Technology builds chatbots that work inside the messaging apps your customers and staff already use, mainly LINE, the app most people in Thailand use every day. The bots answer routine questions, send alerts and pass requests to the right person.

Who it’s for

What we build

  • Guest and customer bots. A bot that answers common questions from your own information and hands the conversation to a person when it can’t help. We have built one for a beachfront villa operator on Koh Samui.
  • Alert services. Bots that watch a source for you and message subscribers when something changes. Our free Samui & Phangan Power Alerts service watches the power authority’s outage announcements and sends them to subscribers on LINE, in English and Thai.
  • Request routing. A bot that collects the details of a request, such as a maintenance problem or a change to a stay, and forwards it to the right person or group.
  • LINE Official Account set-up. Greeting messages, rich menus and the connection between your LINE Official Account and the bot.

For readers outside Thailand: LINE is a messaging app similar to WhatsApp. In Thailand it is the usual way to contact a business, so a bot on LINE reaches customers where they already are.

How a project runs

  1. Scoping. We agree by email what the bot should answer, which channels it uses and when it hands over to a person.
  2. Build. We build the bot on your LINE Official Account or other channel and test it with you before customers see it.
  3. Handover. You get plain instructions for updating the information the bot uses.
  4. Support. We keep the bot running and adjust it as the questions change.

Example projects

  • Guest concierge chatbot

Frequently asked questions

Does the chatbot work in Thai and English?

Yes. We build bots that understand and answer in Thai and English, and we can add other languages your customers use.

Do our guests need to install anything?

No new app. The bot runs inside a messaging app they already have, such as LINE. On LINE, guests add your Official Account as a friend, for example by scanning a QR code.

What happens when the bot doesn’t know the answer?

We design each bot to say so plainly and pass the conversation to a person on your team, instead of guessing.

Can the bot send messages without being asked?

Yes. Alert bots send a message when something changes. Our Samui & Phangan Power Alerts service does this for planned and unplanned power outages.

Do you only work with LINE?

Most of our work runs on LINE, because it is the main messaging app in Thailand. We also build for other messaging channels when your customers use them.
