A free LINE service that watches the power authority’s announcements for Koh Samui and Koh Phangan and sends outage notices in English and Thai.
The problem
The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) announces planned and unplanned power outages for the islands in Thai. People who don’t read Thai, or who don’t check the announcements, often find out only when the power goes off.
What we built
Samui & Phangan Power Alerts watches the official PEA announcements for Koh Samui and Koh Phangan and republishes planned and unplanned outage notices to subscribers of a LINE Official Account, in English first, then Thai.
- It is fully automated, with no manual checking.
- It is built to keep working when the source changes its post format.
- It runs on Cloudflare Workers with D1 and R2.
